Please be aware this post contains spoilers for the Thursday 19 episodes of EastEnders.
EastEnders have finally revealed the answer to the question we have been asking since last Easter: who killed Lucy Beale?
The answer, revealed last night in a short live clip at the end of the second episode of the night, was 11-year-old Bobby Beale, Ian’s son and Lucy’s half-brother.
After witnessing Lucy arguing with Ian’s former fiance Denise, Bobby apparently took it upon himself to teach Lucy a lesson, hitting her over the head with her music box. Adoptive mum Jane received a phone call – it’s not clear if it was from Lucy or Bobby – and ran to the scene only to discover Lucy dead and Bobby holding the weapon.
It was presumably Jane who covered up the murder, and it is Jane who Ian believes did the deed as of last night. At the end of the first of the two episodes, Ian told Jane to explain everything. But will she confess to Bobby’s involvement?
EastEnders will continue live this evening at 8pm, with a live reaction show following at 8.30pm.
What do you think of the EastEnders reveal? Do you think it is contrived and disappointing or a fantastic twist?
