Last night’s BRIT Awards will certainly be remembered for one magic moment – Madonna falling off the stage backwards after the cape she was wearing refused to come off.
However, it was little bother for the old pro, who simply shrugged off the accident and continued her mattador-themed performance.
Taylor Swift opened the proceedings with a performance of ‘Blank Space’, complete with English bowler hat-wearing backing dancers. She later went on to win Best International Female, beating out Beyonce, Sia and Lana Del Ray.
Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith were also big winners on the night, with Sheeran taking home Best British Male Solo Artist and Album of the Year for ‘X’ and Smith winning Best Breakthrough Artist.
To nobody’s surprise, Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ won Best British Single.
